Mulat Diwa Making Ripples in Cebu Shores

Dubbed as Project KKK – Kaayuhan, Kahibalo, Kabataan (local translation of Healing, Learning, Children), the first Project Management class in the AGSB – Regis Program Cebu will hold its Mulat Diwa project in Brgy. Tinago, Cebu City on June 7, 2008. Under the tutelage of Prof. Larry Guevarra and support from the AGSB Alumni Association Cebu Chapter, the class of 13 project managers will spend the entire Saturday morning doing three parallel activities.

Kaayuhan (Healing) – A medical mission with free consultations from the volunteer doctors, giving away various medicines from participating donors and de-worming program for both children and adults.

Kahibalo (Learning) – An alternative livelihood training program and information campaign of the untapped nutritional and therapeutic values of kamote (sweet potato).

Kabataan (Children) –Among the 2,100 children, 34% (highest percentage among those levels going to school and out-of-school youth in the barangay) are in the elementary undergraduate. Bags complete with school supplies, slippers and raincoats will be given to selected children from the poorest part of the community.

The AGSB Student Core Group has undertaken an Adopt-A-School initiative. They chose Tagba-o Elementary School in Busay. This is an ongoing project for the core group. And they do regular fund raisers to benefit their projects for this program.

In 2009, the Sesqui Blue Run was held to support the outreach program. The fun run was held on December 27 at the Ayala Business Park.

In 2010, the core group held a rummage sale at the Rustan’s Suermarket in Banawa parking lot on September 3. They also had a private showing of the Pacquiao-Margarito fight at Formo in BTC on November 14.
