In addition, the transfer student must present a certificate of transfer from his/her original school and must also present a copy of his/her graduate transcript of records for the evaluation of the Registrar. Transfer students may be given advance credit units subject to the evaluation of the Registrar.

D. Admission Requirements for Cross-Enrolling Applicants

Applications of cross-enrolling students are normally processed by the Registrar. Because of the transitory nature of the study of specific subjects mandated by the sending school, the requirements of admission are waived for the crossenrolling student except for online application.

E. Admission Requirements for “Audit Only” Applicants

The applications of “audit” only students are normally accepted subject to the following conditions:

• If the applicant plans to pursue regular MBA studies in the future, s/he has to go through the regular admission requirements as indicated above.

• If the applicant desires “audit” status only, without any intention to pursue a degree in the future, s/he is exempted from the major requirements of the program except for online application.

F. Online Application

All applications for admission are accomplished through the online facilities. To access information and apply for admission, the applicant must visit the AGSB website http://www.gsb.ateneo.edu and click on online application. All the required fields in the application form must be filled, and the form submitted for evaluation. Upon submission, the applicant is provided with a temporary access identification number to be used for following up the status of the application. This temporary access identification number must be retained as the reference number for the application.

G. Evaluation of Online Application

Upon receipt of the online application form, the Office of the Registrar reviews and assesses the information contained therein, to ensure that the minimum admission requirements are met.

The applicant is informed via the same online facility if the minimum requirements have been met. The applicant then uses the temporary access identification number provided to monitor the progress of the application.

 H. Payment of Processing Fees and Submission of Documents

If the applicant is instructed to proceed, the applicant must immediately pay the online processing fee and the examination fee at the Office of the Registrar. The fees are usually indicated on the AGSB website and may be subject to approved regular increases from year to year. The applicant must also submit a copy of the Transcript of Records before being allowed to take the entrance examination.

The same procedure applies to foreign applicants.

The Office of the Registrar issues the entrance examination permit and instructs the applicant on the procedures and the examination schedules.

I. Entrance Examination Schedule

The entrance examination is usually scheduled on a series of dates at least three (3) months before the start of each trimester. The dates are usually posted on the AGSB website. The applicant may select the date of examination.

J. The Examination Permit

Before being allowed to take the entrance examination, the applicant must present the examination permit issued by the Registrar. The exam permit will have a recent photograph

of the applicant attached. To allow for integrity of the examination, this procedure is followed very strictly and the examination proctor is instructed to disallow applicants who do not follow this rule from taking the examination.

K. Results of the Entrance Examination

The results of the entrance examination is one of the bases for the admission of the applicant. The results are usually available within thirty-six (36) hours from the date of the examination. The Registrar establishes passing cutoffs for the admission of applicants. The rate of acceptance varies depending on the number of applicants and resource limitations.

L. Final Evaluation for Admission

All regular functions that pertain to the general admission of students who have satisfactorily qualified for the programs based on existing minimum standards and who have no need to appeal their admission are the main responsibility of the Office of the Registrar.

Upon the submission and review of the online application and the completion of the requirements, particularly the transcript of records and the appropriate visas for foreign students, the Registrar approves the admission of those who substantively accomplish all the major requirements, including satisfactory examination results within the cutoff score.

The successful applicant is informed online on the status of admission into the specific program and the schedule of enrollment. The applicant must always retain their temporary identification numbers as the basis for their online registration and enrollment.

A foreign applicant who is approved for admission will be issued a Notice of Acceptance (NOA) by the Office of the Registrar. The NOA is used to obtain a student visa or to convert a tourist visa to a student visa from the Bureau of Immigration. The NOA, together with all the authenticated documents required for the acceptance of a foreign applicant is then submitted by the Office of Registrar to the Bureau of Immigration. After submission, the admitted foreign student must follow up the approval of the student visa without the intervention from the Office of the Registrar/AGSB. No staff member from AGSB is authorized to directly facilitate for a fee the approval of the foreign student visa with the Bureau of Immigration. An applicant found guilty of violating this policy will be refused admission into the program.

 M. The Admissions Committee for Appeals

Due to the nature of the adult practitioner market entering the MBA programs, a number of applicants may encounter unique problems with respect to their admission. The Admissions Committee for Appeals was constituted to handle such situations.

N. Procedure for Appeals

The following procedure is followed in an appeal for admission:

b. The Registrar through his staff arranges the interview schedule of the appellants with the Admissions Committee. All documents related to the appeals, such as letters, interview sheets, transcripts of records, results of examinations, are to be presented to the Committee for its assessment.

c. Non-English speaking foreign students are interviewed only upon the completion of all the documents required by government agencies and the AGSB. Issues that arise shall be decided upon by the Registrar.

d. The Committee members submit their recommendations to the Registrar who reviews and implements the decisions.

e. Accepted appellants are given at least one trimester as a probationary period, and are required to enroll in at least two subjects and to obtain an average QPI of 2.5. Failing this, their probationary period is terminated and the students are not allowed to continue in the program.

f. The Office of the Registrar prepares a list of the QPI performance of probationary students for the purpose of monitoring such probations. The Admissions Committee for Appeals is given a copy of this list for further action.
